Central Tucson Volunteer Opportunities

Members are invited to join one of the many OLLI-UA volunteer work groups that keep our program running. Click here to explore current opportunities. Members are also invited to join committees, run for election to our Campus Council, and meet new and returning members by supporting our Help Desk at the beginning of each semester.

Hearing Assistance at Central Tucson

Our two largest classrooms (Ocotillo and Saguaro) are hearing loop equipped. Our smaller Palo Verde room is not equipped but has an overhead sound system. This is due to our inability to have the loop systems in proximity to each other and other electrical interference in the space.

If you wear hearing aids, or a cochlear implant, check with your provider to ensure that you have operating t-coils. This will allow you to take advantage of the system.

Headsets Also Available

For those who have hearing aids that ARE NOT equipped with T-coils, or for hearing impaired members without hearing aids at all, we offer loaner headset devices that demonstrate the wonderful hearing improvement that comes with T-coil equipped hearing aids.

Explanations and check-out of these loaner devices for class are available at the “hearing assistance desk” in the lounge where headphones can be signed out on a daily basis by those exploring the benefits of hearing assistance devices. You can always ask a campus host for help getting started.
