Meet the OLLI-UA Staff

OLLI-UA Staff

Betsy Labiner, Program Director

In this role, she is responsible for the administrative oversight of the program, which offers over 500 classes to more than 1,200 members annually. Betsy holds multiple degrees in History and English, including a doctorate in English Literature. She is a passionate nonprofit professional committed to uplifting causes that improve holistic quality of life for the community and has extensive experience in education in K-12, university, and community environments. Outside of work, Betsy volunteers year-round with the Tucson Festival of Books and enjoys hiking, cooking, and embarking on literary adventures of the fantasy and science fiction persuasions.


Alice Yu, Program Coordinator

In this role, she supports the daily operations of the program. Alice joined the OLLI-UA in 2026. She holds a PhD degree in East Asian Studies from the University of Arizona. She is passionate about promoting the study of and research into international languages and cultures and supporting learning at all levels. Before joining OLLI-UA, she has a decade of experience in research and teaching of East Asian cultures, in particular, Chinese literature, language, and culture. Outside of work, she enjoys reading on her Kindle, building Lego, and traveling with her daughter and husband.
